The customer wants RGB images converted to grayscale as he is doing b&w printing. Sometimes he wants CMYK images converted as well; sometimes he wants them left untouched. |

Solution |
If you are getting an "unlicensed" warning in the DIAG when you first try this, then you must fix the "unlicensed" bug that's in the installer. To fix the "unlicensed" bug, you need to remove the ColorMatch JTP from the Prinergy system and then add it again. Be sure to give the new ColorMatch JTP the same name as the old one and add it to the ColorMatch default pool. Next, open up a refining process plan and enable the ColorMatch JTP. Here are the settings you should use: 1. Make sure the profiling of CMYK images and graphics is grayed out. 2. Make sure the profiling of RGB images and graphics is enabled BUT pointing to the default RGB profiles. 3. In the FINAL output ICC profile directory, point the directory towards the "GenericGray.icm" profile in the Araxi home directory. This will convert all RGB images to grayscale while leaving the CMYK images as CMYK. If you want to convert all color images to grayscale, then just enable the profiling of CMYK images and graphics. Permanent fix: Prinergy 2.0 |
