Symptoms

Some XyVision PostScript files fail in Prinergy/Distiller 4.0x. PostScript error encountered (typically io error).

Cause

The files use incorrect PostScript that, unfortunately, works in some RIPs. Specifically, the files use CCITTFax encoded data and do not indicate the value for EndOfBlock marker, which defaults to true. Unfortunately, the EndOfBlock marker is missing in the data.

Solution

Distill the PostScript using Distiller 3.0.
