Symptoms

When trying to archive, retrieve, or purge a job, the PArchRet.JTP or PPurge.JTP fails with a Cobra System exception error.

Cause

Solution

1. Manually restart the JTP when these problems are encountered.

2. Set the "AutoRestartCount" registry value for the Archive and Purge JTP to 100.

NOTE:

This value depends on how many archives or retrieves occured between the corba error.

- The Archive JTP AutoRestartCount key in \\HKey_Local_System\Software\Creo\ARAXI\buildxxx\Default\AJTP\Archive.

- The Purge JTP AutoRestartCount key is in \\HKey_Local_System\Software\Creo\ARAXI\buildxxx\Default\PJTP\Purge.

3. Set the CobraTimeoutLimitBeforeForcingRestart key for Purge to 1. You can find this key in \\Hkey_Local_System\Software\Creo\Araxi\buildxxx\PJTP\Purge. Setting it to "1" instead of "0" will cause the JTP to restart itself after it encounters a CORBA timeout.

4. Stop and restart the PArchRet and Purge JTP in UADM.

NOTE : It is expected to not happen anymore with Orbacus in Prinergy 2.1.
