Symptoms

A grayscale JPEG image (.JPG or .TIF with Jpeg compression), placed in Pagemaker 7.0, will be reported as missing by Prinergy during refining. If selected to do so, the refining will fail and the resulting PDF will have a black cross over the content.

Cause

Solution

You can resave the image out of Photoshop as EPS, replace it in Pagemaker, and remake the PostScript file.

If you have no control over the PostScript file, you can still process the file by unchecking "Fail on Missing Images" in the refine process plan.
