Error |

Symptoms |
The following message appears during the creation of Mac shares on an Alpha: The Mac share "Jobs on Anaconda D Drive" could not be created. The most likely reason for this failure is an existing Mac share on the D:\ folder, or on a parent folder. Please look at error number 001 in the log file for more information. |
Cause |
The Mac share creation fails on Alpha machines that have certain characteristics in their names. From testing so far, it has been determined that Mac share creation will fail if the machine name is 11 characters long and ends in number dash number (e.g. Computer1-0). | |

Solution |
Create the Mac share manually: 1) From a command prompt, type Winfile to start the File Manager. 2) Under the MacFile menu, select Create Volume. The Volume Name was listed in the error message. If that message is gone, use the following format: "Jobs on Anaconda D Drive", where Anaconda is the name of the installation computer and D is the drive letter for the volume you wish to share. The path should be the drive letter for the volume with the jobs folder on it (e.g. D:\). 3) Leave password fields blank and accept defaults for all other options. 4) Click OK. This will create a Mac share at the root of the selected volume. Permanent fix: Alpha platform will not be supported after Prinergy 1.1, so this problem will not occur in Prinergy 2.0. Permanent fix: Prinergy 2.0 |
