Symptoms |
In systems without a barcode reader, after upgrading to Prinergy 2.0.6.0, backup tape names are not being changed to reflect the current date/time (e.g. Prinergy Backup 1-1-2001 3:01 - 1). This results in a tape name with an old date/time stamp, which can mislead customers to think that the backup information on the tape is not current. |
Cause |
Prinergy 2.0.6.0 backup no longer changes the backup tape name to "Prinergy Backup <dttm>" for systems without a barcode reader. This will allow the customer to set the tape name, so they can manually label the physical tapes as well. If a 2.0.5 backup tape is used in 2.0.6.0, the tape name with the old date/time will be maintained. | |

Solution |
This workaround is only required for systems not using barcodes. After the Prinergy 2.0.6.0 upgrade, change the Media Name of the Prinergy Backup tapes in RSM to correspond to the physical labels of the tapes. Physically relabel the tapes if required. Permanent fix: |
