Symptoms |
Refiner's OPI fails and sends an error message to the history that it encountered "corrupt" PostScript. |
Cause |
This workaround applies if you are placing sample files from either Intersep OPI v2.7 or Mediabank OPI v2.7. Version 2.7 of these programs will generate samples that have an invalid set of OPI 2.0 comments. The problem is that the set of comments is incomplete. If the faulty sample is placed in the page layout application (eg. Quark) and then PostScript is generated, the incomplete set of OPI 2.0 comments from the sample will be embedded into the PostScript. The OPI server component of Prinergy's Refiner fails when it encounters an incomplete set of OPI 2.0 comments. |

Solution |
There are a few different ways to work around the problem: 1) Don't use samples. Place the high-resolution images directly into the application and then "omit EPS" when generating PostScript. 2) Use samples from a different OPI vendor or different version of Intersep or Mediabank. Version 234c5 does not generate faulty sample files. 3) Use the "ZapOPI2" utility to correct sample files and application PostScript. (availability TBA) Permanent fix: |
