Symptoms |
When the Prinergy Archiver went to allocate a new medium, there were no "Available" media in the desired pool or the Free pool that were "on-line". Note that this problem shouldn't occur very often. It may happen under the following circumstance: (1) You reinitialize the database but don't move your previously allocated archived tapes to the free pool. (2) You attempt to archive from Prinergy System A on a tape that has been used by Prinergy System B. |

Cause |
During the sanity test installation, the Oracle tables were reinitialized, but the RSM sub-key hive in the registry was not. Intended to re-install from scratch, but re-installation failed to properly empty the whole database, specifically the NT-registry entries. So, though there was a tape in the Araxi Archives pool, because the RSM saw it as being "Allocated", the Prinergy Archiver did not have any record of it. |

Solution |
Make sure there is an "Available" tape in the desired application media pool or in the Free pool. Permanent fix: |
