Symptoms |
When you refine an edited PDF in Prinergy, you get a warning: "Optimizer: Found non-embedded or emulated font xxxxx on page x, PDF file: \server\blahblah" |
Cause |
When you edit a PDF from Distiller, with font subsetting turned on, and you add characters that were not in the subset, Acrobat will emulate the character. This will happen even if you have the font available on the system you are editing on. Acrobat will not extend the font subset. |

Solution |
There are two possible workarounds: 1) Create PDFs using Prinergy, rather than Distiller. 2) Add a line of text to your source file that includes all font characters. Hide it under another object, or cover it with a white box. Permanent fix: |
