Symptoms |
Prinergy doesn't merge and embed hi-res DCS files into composite PostScript from QuarkXPress. |
Cause |
QuarkXPress does not embed any OPI tags in the composite Postscript if the DCS files do not contain composite data. Prinergy's OPI engine has the ability to take separated data in Photoshop DCS files and merge them into composite data. It looks for the various %ALD comments, instructing it which file to insert (among other things). Without these special OPI comments, the OPI engine cannot do anything. |

Solution |
Resave the DCS images from Photoshop: DCS 1 setting: Use "Color Composite" or "Grayscale Composite". DO NOT use "No composite PostScript". DCS 2 setting: Use Single or Multiple file "Greyscale Composite" or "Color Composite". DO NOT USE "Single File DCS, No Composite" or "Multiple File DCS, No Composite". Permanent fix: |
