Error |
"Error extracting page attributes from PDF file" OR "PDF Library Error: This operation is not permitted. (1073938472)" |
Symptoms |
An attempt to refine a file in Prinergy fails, with an error message indicating that an error was encountered while trying to extract page attributes from the file, or that the operation is not permitted. |
Cause |
The PDF file has some security settings enabled. Prinergy requires full access to PDFs. | |
Solution |
Open the PDF, entering the security password. Set Security to "No Security", then save. Refine the saved PDF. OR If the PDF-creator has not password-protected the opening of the file, it will be possible to open the PDF and Save As to a new PDF name without any security settings. No password would be necessary. Refine the new saved PDF. In Prinergy 2.1, you can automatically enter the password for many PDFs with the same password, using the "Secure PDF Password" portion of the Normalize process plan. Note that this does not work with the 128-bit encryption option of PDF 1.4 from Distiller 5. Permanent fix: |
