Error |
When saving as an EPS file, at the bottom of the EPS Options dialog box, you will see a warning message if Illustrator needs to rasterize any objects: "The document contains artwork that requires flattening." |
Symptoms |
Blocks of artwork (images, vector art, text) in an Illustrator 9 EPS have been rasterized. |
Cause |
If there are objects in the file that use Transparency or Appearance attributes, Illustrator needs to rasterize them, and some of the objects that touch them. | |
Solution |
Change some default settings in Illustrator 9: 1) In the Document Setup dialog box, in Printing & Export, set the Paths = 2400 dpi (default is 800). 2) In Transparency, set Printing & Export to setting 5 -Higher/Slower (default is 3). If you are still having rasterization problems, open the original file in Illustrator 10 and use it's vastly improved flattener. Permanent fix: |
