Symptoms |
***Applies to Prinergy Connect, Powerpack, Direct, Satellite, depending on installed configuration.*** In Quark XPress, a grayscale image set to overprint a spot color background appears to create a negative version of the image in the spot channel when refined to PDF. |

Cause |
Quark XPress writes incorrect Postscript. | |

Solution |
There are two solutions: A. Place an overprinting box, filled with the spot color, on top of the grayscale image.( It will look wrong in Adobe Acrobat 4, because Acrobat 4 doesn't display overprinting objects correctly.) B. Create a duotone of the image in Photoshop. Leave the black channel as it is, and fill the spot color channel with the desired background spot color tint. Permanent fix: |
