Symptoms |
DCS images placed in Adobe Illustrator are not re-composited with the Prinergy OPI feature that re-composes DCS in composite workflows. |
Cause |
The Prinergy OPI engine can re-composite DCS EPS images, but only if it can find all the component parts. The problem is that Adobe Illustrator does not embed OPI comments into the EPS, so you need to embed an FPO EPS (which DOES contain the correct OPI comments). | |
Solution |
The cheapest solution is to use Color Central Sampler (available from Creo's eCentral website), but if you already have an OPI system that produces FPO files, chances are the Prinergy OPI engine supports them. If you place the Adobe Illustrator EPS containing an FPO into a page layout program (like QuarkXPress), pour *composite* Postscript from it. Then you'll get a composite PDF (with re-composited images) you can colormatch and trap. Permanent fix: Prinergy 2.0 |
