Symptoms |
Double-clicking refined PDF in Workshop (on Macintosh Client) launches Acrobat Reader instead of Acrobat, the complete application. To reproduce: 1.) Install the full Acrobat Product from the Adobe installation disks (which includes the Reader component). 2.) Install Prinergy Workshop for Macintosh only (do not use the Prinergy Acrobat installation). 3.) Create a job in Workshop and refine PS. 4.) Preview the refined PDF by launching Acrobat through Workshop's Pages Window. |

Solution |
Do one of two things: - Launch the Acrobat application BEFORE double-clicking on a PDF file. Prinergy will then use the currently running application, Acrobat complete, to view the file. - Delete the Reader Application from the Macintosh workstation. Permanent fix: Establish a File Translation Preference on the Macintosh which specifies the Acrobat Application as the program to launch when a PDF is double-clicked. To do this: From the Apple Menu, select Control Panels | File Exchange. Select the File Translation Tab, and remove the existing association between PDF and Acrobat Reader. After removing the original association, now create a new association by clicking Add. You must now choose the file type by selecting a PDF file. Click Continue. Now choose Acrobat as the preferred application. Permanent fix: |
