Symptoms |
Loose page proofs to HP5Si failed with the message: “Error encountered while communicating with printer <name>. OS reported error: Your file waiting to be printed was deleted... |
Cause |
The message may have been caused by somebody at the NT Print Server manually deleting jobs from the print queue, but is most likely caused by the lack of disk space on the print server, specifically the disk that contains the spool directory. | |
Solution |
In the Scheduling tab of the Printer Properties dialog box, de-select the “keep documents after they are printed option. If this option is not selected for any printers, then you can free up space by deleting unnecessary files, or you can move the spool directory to a larger disk. Permanent fix: |
