Symptoms |
When printing to file, the following warning appears in Process Details in the Process Info window: "Services for Macintosh failed to set file type and creator." |
Cause |
When output is directed to a file, the system will create a temporary folder for the working file underneath the destination folder. When the file is completed, it will automatically move the file to its destination. It will then set the file type and creator. When the destination folder is a hot folder, the file is picked up too quickly for the file type and creator to be set. |

Solution |
Although this is not a serious error, you can correct the problem by setting the sensitivity of the hot folder. Most OPIs and RIPs have a setting to adjust the wait period before processing the file. Try setting this to a higher value. Permanent fix: |
