Symptoms |
Landscape pages poured from Quark 4 end up with thumbnails displayed as portrait, even though the Acrobat PDF shows them as landscape. |
Cause |
Acrobat has a "viewing orientation" that is different than printing orientation. Thumbnails get print orientation, whereas Acrobat shows view orientation. | |

Solution |
Don't use landscape printing if you can avoid it. Use portait, with a very wide paper width. It works, no problems. Remember, when you specify landscape, you are asking things to print 90 deg rotated. Are you sure this is what you want? Historically landscape printing has been an option because of fixed size media. But PDF doesn't limit the media size. So just print portrait, and set the media to whatever is required. This is actually a feature of Acrobat, so it's not likely to change. Permanent fix: |
