Symptoms |
Prinergy normalized or distilled PDF has some unusual constructs on a page with an Illustrator 9.0.0 EPS file. The resulting PDF (from both Distiller and Normalizer) has a portion of the text converted to paths with various colors of boxes (compound paths) behind the text. These boxes preview incorrectly in Acrobat, but display correctly in Separation Viewer. However, the fact that this text is treated differently than the rest of the text in the EPS is alarming. |

Solution |
Solution A: 1. Update Illustrator to 9.0.2 or later. Check the Adobe website for the latest versions. 2. Re-save all Illustrator 9.0.0 EPS files using Illustrator 9.0.2. Some inconsistent behavior has been noted if some of the EPS files are saved from 9.0.0 and others from 9.0.2. Solution B: Save the EPS file with Illustrator 8 compatibility . Permanent fix: |
