Error |

Symptoms |
Prinergy OPI cannot find a high-resolution image or merges the image even when the Quark PS says not to merge the image via an OPI XTension comment. |
Cause |
Quark XPress 5 includes an OPI XTension which allows XPress to output OPI 2.0 comments. If you are using this XTension, the Usage dialog has an OPI pane that allows you to turn off specific images for OPI. When you print thin PS, XPress will create PS with the OPI 2.0 comment "IncludedImageQuality: 3.0" (basically, "don't attempt to merge this image"). However, Prinergy will still attempt to perform the OPI merge. |

Solution |
A. Remove the OPI XTension. B. Do not disable specific images for OPI in the Usage\OPI window. Solution A may be the preferred method, since in Quark you cannot define a Print Style that references an XTension. In other words, if the OPI XTension is active, you can't create a "CompositeThin" or "CompositeFat" Print Style. Permanent fix: |
