Symptoms |
PDF file fails RIPping, reports "limitcheck; Offending Command: save" error |
Cause |
The file has an unusually high number of "save" operators in it, possibly due to placing PDFs into a page layout and saving as PDF. See http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/27136.htm for an example. Many RIPs, the Prinergy RIP included, have a limit to the number of "save" operations they can handle. |

Solution |
There are two possible solutions to this problem: 1. You can try modifying the PDF at the desktop level (changing the format of the artwork that you are placing). 2. You can output PostScript, from Acrobat, of the affected pages and re-import that output into Prinergy. The resulting PDF may RIP in Prinergy. . Note: This problem may be fixed in the Prinergy 2.2 release, when a new Prinergy RIP is available. Permanent fix: |
