How do I change the color of Trim and Bleed lines on proofs?

Cause

Solution

In Registry, under MRKJ,

.

- OnBleedColor = modifies the bleed line color on LP and IP proofs.

- OnDesignTrimColor = specifies stroke color for trim line for LP proofs

- OnImpoTrimColor = specifies stroke color for trim line for IP proofs

.

(Note that some systems might not have these keys present by default. Simply create new STRING keys in the MRKJ location with the names as specified above, for example "OnBleedColor")

.

Values are "All" or 4 numbers between 0 and 1 (CMYK). For example, to specify a red which is 0,100,50,0 CMYK, enter "0 1 .5 0". (note spaces between the numbers)

.

If you want to change the way the marks appear (dashed vs. solid lines) under MRKJ, "OnDesignTrimDashPattern" = for trim line for LP proofs and "OnImpoTrimDashPattern" = for trim line for IP proofs and default value is "6 12". When removing these values, the line become solid line.

.

Restart the Marks JTP for the changes to take effect.

This will change the colors for all proofs.

.

On a related note, people have asked if there was a way to eliminate certain lines altogether (example, the Bleed line). To do so, set

- OnBleedLineThickness to 0

- OnBleedDashPattern to 0 1000000

which will turn off the Bleed line, except for 1 pixel, which shouldn't be noticeable.
