Symptoms |
Prinergy Normalizer crashes when processing a .DS_Store file and reports <Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: Bud1> |
Cause |
The .DS_Store files are where the OS X Finder keeps track of information about the folder in which they reside (icon placement, folder background, individual folder view options, for example). If you delete one, you will get random or default icon placement, view options, etc. in the folder in which the .DS_Store file used to reside. You will not lose the files in that folder themselves. | |
Solution |
- Avoid attempting to process .DS_Store files. Do not include them when you use "Add Input" dialog, and avoid dropping them into hot folders. If you DON'T open the hotflolder in Mac OS X, this ".DS_Store" file will also not be created within the hotfolder, and you can avoid the problem. - You can also change Prinergy behavior to ignore these files -- In registry, ...Default\SPHF\IgnorePatterns, add ".DS_Store" with a semicolon delimiter -- example, it should read: "AI Temp;.DS_Store" Permanent fix: |
