Symptoms |
Jobs from Prinergy 1.1 system no longer have page colors defined, and fail when attempting to output. |
Cause |
In Prinergy 1.1, Prinergy made the assumption that pages always included CMYK data, so it didn't bother storing that color information in the database. Prinergy 1.1 only stored spot colors in the database. For example, Prinergy 1.1 jobs retrieved into Prinergy 2.x will show up as: - "Spot + CMYK Colors" in a page in Prinergy 1.1 will appear as just Spot in Prinergy 2.x - Just CMYK colors in a page in Prinergy 1.1 will appear as "no colors" (blank "Colors on Page" field in the "Info" window of a page) in Prinergy 2.x |

Solution |
Previously, there were problems when dealing with these jobs -- the only way to re-output them was to rebuild a new job using the SubPage PDFs as input. In Prinergy 2.1, things were changed to allow: - re-refining of the pages in the 1.1 job (to determine the colors on the page) (This allows re-use of the 1.1 job, and retains page assignments, etc.) - import/export of the job, which would force the determination of the colors on the page.
