Tools: - Rorke TIFF/IT Eyes or PageComposer (free from internet) - Creo PressTouch (free) -- good indicator of whether the Scitex-based raster libraries can interpret a CT/LW or TIFF/IT set. - Photoshop can open some CT files, and with the TIFF/IT plugin, can open some LW files as well. - Copydot Toolkit can open CT and LW files independently - CheckLW is a utility in \AraxiHome\CreoAraxi\support\bin that lets you check the integrity of LW files. - TagsViewer from Apago is a great tool for looking at the details of TIFF/IT (or any TIFF) component (ftp://ftp.apago.com/pub/winnt/) . Check the data integrity of the page. - Is the page openable in Presstouch/Remake? (does it decompress without errors?) - Is the Assign file openable in Notepad/Wordpad? - Is the CT file openable in Photoshop? (you may have to load the Photoshop extension from the Brisque CD) - Is the LW file openable in Presstouch independent of the other components? - Make a minor change to the file in Presstouch and press Save As... Can you process this new page? - Use CheckLW.exe to ensure the Lw is okay (CheckLW.exe is available at AraxiHome\CreoAraxi\support\bin) Permanent fix: |
