Symptoms |
Render JTP crashes after switching between the 3011 and 3016 RIPs (3011 to 3016, or 3016 to 3011). The JTP starts okay, but crashes when first output is attempted. |
Cause |
If the new JTP (3016) has the same name as the previous JTP of the other type (3011), then it gets confused by the screen cache that was already built by the previous type of RIP. | |
Solution |
1) When switching between RIPs, use a different name so the new type doesn't get confused by the previous type's screen cache, or 2) After upgrading, immediately switch the JTPs (don't run the previous type of JTP), or 3) Manually go in and delete the contents of %ARAXIHOME%\AdobeExtreme\bin\CreoScreens\Cache . This is not a problem in Prinergy 2.3.x or 2.2.1.11, where ONLY the 3016 RIP is available. Permanent fix: |
