Error |
Message from Extreme: Vector-OutputOn<server>: Vector Output failed processing: .. |
Symptoms |
When Vector Output should produce a DCS set, it only produces a file named <file>.pdf.tmp that is 0 KB in size. In 2.0.7.2, Workshop will show the file as failed but there is no explanation of the error in the history pane. Prior to 2.0.7.2, the file did not fail and the history pane implied that the file had succeeded. |

Cause |
Adobe Distiller sometimes creates invalid checksums when compressing images while making a PDF. Adobe Acrobat apparently ignores these incorrect checksums and displays the page and image properly. However, the Adobe PDF library routine used by the Vector Output JTP fails when it finds the invalid checksum. | |

Solution |
In Workshop, open the Prinergy PDF page in Acrobat. Export the page as an EPS back into the appropriate NoTrap hot folder on the Prinergy Satellite. (Note: trapping was applied to the original so does not need to be reapplied here.) The new EPS will have correct images and will reprocess properly to create the DCS file. Permanent fix: |
