Symptoms

Quark3 can set an object to overprint using the trap information pallet. However, overprint information is not included in the PostScript file properly. If you refine the PostScript file in Prinergy, these overprint elements become knockouts.

Cause

Solution

A Creo PDF (Printer Description File) for Quark3 is available that will fix the problem (See Also, below). Using this PDF when you create a PostScript file includes the overprint information in the file correctly.

Procedure:

1. Copy "Creo Platesetter 3244" into the PDF folder in the QuarkXPress application folder.

2. Select the PDF for "Printer Type" on the PageSetup dialog.

3. Print the PostScript file.
