Symptoms |
When refining a specific Photoshop CS EPS, the process fails and reports the error: "limitcheck; OffendingCommand: string". Adobe Distiller 6 reports the same error when processing the file. |
Cause |
PhotoShop CS has a new feature that saves history log information into the image as meta data. (It is in the Preferences > General menu and is disabled by default.) | |
Solution |
Option 1: Delete the history log information from the image as follows: 1. Open the EPS in Photoshop CS. 2. Browse to File>File info>Advanced. 3. In Adobe Photoshop Properties, select History. 4. Click Delete. 5. Save the file as an EPS. . Option 2: Open the EPS file and re-save it as an EPS using Adobe Photoshop 6 or earlier. Permanent fix: |
