Symptoms |
A JPEG-compressed image has noticable image quality degradation after processing through the Vector JTP to DCS. |
Cause |
Any JPEG-compressed image has inherent image quality degradation, and will have further image quality degradation after processing through the Vector JTP to DCS. In most cases, this degradation is not noticeable. However, in some cases, depending on image characteristics, it might be noticeable. | |

Solution |
Set compression in Distiller to ZIP instead of JPEG, or create a Pitstop Action to convert all images to ZIP compression. Note that you cannot change compression of images that are part of a PDF form. If the image is contained in a form, you will have to re-distill the source PostScript with ZIP as the compression setting. Permanent fix: |
