Symptoms |
When using Adobe Extreme RIP, cannot find Edge Detect. The customer is unable to generate plates in Prinergy because of an Edge Detect failure. The case appears to be a hardware problem. The Input/Hardware team dialed in to the output device and determined that the software has in fact found the edge of the plate. |

||
Cause |
The most likely cause is a problem file upstream in the PostScript that causes the hires output supra RIP to crash. Any other impending jobs will not interpret because the hires supra RIP is in a hung state. Starting and stopping JTPs may kill the proof RIPs but won't necessarilly kill the high res extreme supra RIP that is in a hung state. | |

Solution |
Troubleshoot this problem by stopping/starting all 3 output jtps, checking in task manager which 'hires suprarip' is still looming, then kill it in Task Manager. Start the JTP again. You don't have to reboot the server or stop/start Prinergy. Resubmit a file that has been successfully plated in the past. The customer must pre-flight their file and remove the problem page and then resubmit the job. Permanent fix: |
