Symptoms |
Open File Manager causes bluescreen crashes. |
Cause |
When Online Backup is installed, Open File Manager is installed to allow any open file to be backed up onto tape. However it was found that Open File Manager is causing the servers to bluescreen crash (BSOD). | |

Solution |
We are now stopping shipment of the Open File Manager software and it has been removed from the Bill of Materials on the Online Backup option. If any system has Open File Manager installed, it is mandatory that the software is uninstalled as soon as possible. If you cannot get to the system to uninstall it, the Open File Manager service can be disabled from the Control Panel. The D:\ORANT\CREO\UTIL\SUCCESSFULBACKUP.CMD batch should also be updated by removing the lines NET START "OPEN FILE MANAGER" and NET STOP "OPEN FILE MANAGER". Permanent fix: |
