The following instructions describe how to import an Allegro calibration curve into Harmony and then set up Prinergy to use that curve for final output: 1. Harmony must be installed on the Prinergy Primary server. 2. On the Primary, run Harmony from NT's Start menu. 3. In Harmony, click on the "File | Import Curves" menu item. A dialog box appears. 4. In the dialog box, set the "Import File Type" to "Allegro 4.1 Calibration Curve". At the "Import from file" field hit the browse button and navigate to the Platesetter workstation's E: drive (you will probably need to mount the Platesetter's E: drive on the Prinergy Primary server). Navigate to the following file: E:\Allegro\SW\Config\Devices\DevCalibration\Platesetter\Default (Note: if you are at a site that has a different type of output device, like a Trendsetter, then the directory paths will be different). 5. You will now get a list of curves. (Multi) select the curve(s) you need. The curves will be imported into Harmony. 6. Click Harmony's "Calibration" tab. You should see the curve(s). You can double-click on the curve to display a graph of the transfer function. You may want to confirm with one of the operators that it looks roughly correct. 7. To enable the curve, click on the checkbox which is to the left of the curve. You can now exit (and save) from Harmony. 8. In PPED, edit/create your Final Output (or LP or IP output) process plan. In the "Calibration & Screening" section, you will see "Calibration From:" and "To:" fields. Leave the "Calibration from:" field BLANK. In the "To:" field, select the curve you want. You'll probably see all the curves. 9. Save the process plan, then go to the secondary that will be doing the Final Output. 10. Map a drive letter on the secondary to the share called "Harmony" on the primary server. Make sure that the share is marked as RECONNECT AT LOGON. This is important because if you reboot the machine, and the connection to the Harmony share disappears, then any output from Prinergy with the process plan will not work. 11. The secondary also needs a registry entry that specifies where it can find the Harmony database. These registry entries are normally created by installing Harmony, but there is a simpler way to do this: just edit the attached file so that it uses the drive letter which you mapped in #10. Then "import" this file using REGEDIT (not REGEDT32). This import will create the proper registry entries for you without having to install Harmony on the secondary. The most important key is the one called "HarmonyDatabase" ... it must contain the correct path to the Harmony database file, done with a UNC path in the Registry entry. Permanent fix: |
