Harmony calibration curves don’t appear in the process plan

Product

  Prinergy 1.1; Prinergy Connect 2.0

Platform

Server: Dell all; Client: PC or Macintosh

Operating system

Server: Windows 2000; Client: Windows or Macintosh

Error

Symptoms

When editing a process plan for proofing or final output, in the Calibration and Screening section, from the Calibration Curves drop-down list, you cannot select any calibration curves, or only the most recently used curve is listed.

Cause

There are three possible causes for the problem:

1) The JTP selected in the process plan is not running.

2) The JTP is unable to locate the Harmony database.

3) The folder in which the Harmony database is located is not shared.

Solution

To determine which of the three causes you are experiencing, and to fix the problem:

1) The JTP selected in the process plan is not running: To determine if this is the cause, and if so, to correct the problem:

a) If using a proofing process plan, in the Render section, from the JTP drop-down list, verify which JTP is selected.

b) If using a final output process plan, from the Output To drop-down list, verify which JTP is selected.

c) On the Prinergy primary server, open Prinergy Administrator.

d) In the right pane, on the JTP tab, verify that the JTP has a Status of Ready.

e) If the Status is set to something other than Ready, right-click the name of the JTP and select Start JTP.

f) Once the JTP has started, check the process plan again to determine if the calibration curves are now visible in the Calibration Curves drop-down list.

2) The JTP is unable to locate the Harmony database: To determine if this is the cause, and if so, to correct the problem:

a) On the primary server, in Windows Explorer, navigate to D:\Prinergy\AdobeExtreme\bin.

b) Verify that the file Calcurve.hmy is in the bin folder. This is the Harmony database.

c) If the file is not present, Harmony may have been incorrectly installed in D:\Program Files\Harmony.

d) Verify whether Harmony was installed in the wrong location. If so, move the file Calcurve.hmy to D:\Prinergy\AdobeExtreme\bin.

e) Update your Harmony shortcut.

f) Check the process plan again to determine if the calibration curves are now visible in the Calibration Curves drop-down list.

3) The folder in which the Harmony database is located is not shared: To determine if this is the cause, and if so, to correct the problem:

a) On the primary server, in Windows Explorer, navigate to D:\Prinergy\AdobeExtreme\bin.

b) Right-click the Harmony folder and select Properties.

c) On the Sharing tab, verify that "Share this folder" is selected.

d) In the Share name box, verify that the share name is "Harmony$".

e) Check the process plan again to determine if the calibration curves are now visible in the Calibration Curves drop-down list.

If none of these actions fixes the problem, contact the Creo Response Center.
