If there is a syslog server on the network, the JetDirect card will display the error "aborted due to foreign side aborted". |

Symptoms |
The HP DesignJet proofer stops printing in the middle of a job, spits out the rest of the page blank, and restarts the print from scratch. If you have a syslog server on the network, the JetDirect card will display an error indicating that the job was aborted. |

Cause |
Possibly a networking problem. In on case, the problem occurred after an upgrade from Windows NT4 to Windows 2000, and 100bt to gigabit. | |

Solution |
Installing an external JetDirect box (part number 605A00410) solved the problem. Connection speed of the JetDirect card was set at 100bt (instead of the 10bt on the internal JetDirect card). Permanent fix: |
