Error

Unrecoverable Corba error occurred

Symptoms

Workshop can be launched without any problem. Job windows of several jobs can be opened, but one or more jobs cannot be opened on any client or server, always resulting in a Workshop crash.

Cause

The job daemon of one or more jobs got corrupted. Since each active job in Workshop has its own job daemon, only specific jobs will cause this crash.

Solution

Find out which job daemon is related to the jobs causing the problem, and kill that PJobD.exe in the Processes listing of the Task Manager. To find out which PJobD.exe to kill you might ask the customer to exit all Workshops so that only the corrupted PJobD.exe would be left in the Task Manager. This works for all Prinergy versions.

Another option for Prinergy 2.0: Open a DOS prompt and type "arxpingall". Erroneous daemons will be listed with an error that they are not responding anymore. Those PJobD.exe are the ones to kill.

In Prinergy 2.1 you must use the "orbinfo -ping" command. Alternatively, you could just kill all PJobD.exe listed in the Processes list of Task Manager, but the customer will get an error for the current open job windows in Workshop. They will be relaunched when opening the job windows again.
