Error 5002 |
Symptoms |
Prinergy reports error 5002 when connecting from Mac OS X to a Windows 2000 server via AFP (when mounting Jobs volume, for example). |
Cause |
The user's preferences file "GlobalPreferences.plist" on Mac OS X is corrupted. | |
Solution |
The solution to the 5002 error is to delete the invisible file called .GlobalPreferences.plist contained in the Users:<user name>:Library:Preferences folder. You can see this file if you log in as root and look into the user's home folde,r or if you boot from Mac OS 9. You can also use the Finder to search for the file. To search for the file in Finder: 1. Log in as the user. 2. In the Find window, click Add criteria and select Visibility. Set visibility to ALL to include invisible files. 3. Search for the .GlobalPreferences.plist file, then drag the .GlobalPreferences.plist file to the trash. 4. Empty the trash. You may have to add a visible file into the trashcan first before you can empty the trash. Note that some user preferences may revert to default settings after removing this file. A new .GlobalPreferences.plist file will be created when you change a preference setting in Finder. Permanent fix: |
