Error |
ORA-28575: unable to open RPC connection to external procedure agent |
Symptoms |
The major update fails and rolls back to the previous version of Prinergy. The error in the ppu.log file reports that the upgrade failed on schema upgrade 83-84. There is also a Oracle error ORA-28575: unable to open RPC connection to external procedure agent. |
Cause |
The TNSNames file has been modified to include a domain setting | |
Solution |
1. Remove the domain extension in the d:\ora816\network\admin\TNSNames.ora file. This extension will most likely be on the end of a connect string. 2. Restart OracleCREOTNSListener service. 3. Try running the query 'select DBEP_ExtProc.PrimaryName from dual;' connected as Prinergy/araxi. The query should return the name of the primary server when working properly. Permanent fix: |
