Error |

Symptoms |
When you attempt to make a plate using Prinergy: (1) The Plate loads and edge is successfully found. (2) The Workstation errors out with the error message: "Image is too large around the drum. (3) Sending plates from iMPAct or other workflows seems to image the plates correctly (without error). |

Cause |
The Trendsetter is currently set up to not allow an image that is larger than the maximum plate size less the area the clamps cover. For example, on a Trendsetter 3244 the device MAY be configured to only allow a 31.2" image around the drum (maximum plate is 32", less 0.8" for the leading and trailing edge clamps). This applies to all Creo devices -- Trendsetters & Platesetters of all sizes. The reason why this is not an issue for iMPAct is that the Harlequin RIP has been configured to clip the image it is going to send to the device to account for the clamping area; Prinergy does NOT perform this clipping. |

Solution |
Reconfigure these three NVS parameters: sys->maxis config->msz mode X->mis to be able to handle the largest media/plate possible. For example, on a Trendsetter 3244, these settings should be reconfigured to handle an image up to 32". This change should have no effect on image quality or effect other workflows (iMPAct) that are feeding the device. Permanent fix: |
