Symptoms |
A Prinergy-produced plate does not look similar to the iMPAct-produced plate: the rotation, leading edge, and/or trailing edge may be different. |
Cause |
The Platesetter Control Software (AKA Allegro Workstation) has fields that can be specified during plate definition called "Imposition Modifiers" (these fields are accessed from the Configure Type dialog found in the Plate Configuration -> More Options menu item). One of these fields can be used to rotate the plate by 180 degrees. The problem is that these controls interact directly with the Harlequin RIP and any CRI customer (like Prinergy) does not pay attention to them. Thus if you have a plate that is defined to rotate by 180 degrees in the imposition modifier, it will be rotated by iMPAct (Harlequin RIPs) but it will not be rotated when the same plate/imposition is imaged through Prinergy. The other two fields in the Imposition modifiers field (Leading Edge and Trailing Edge) will also have no effect when used with Prinergy. | |

Solution |
When using Prinergy, you must use the Final Output Process Plan to achieve similar offset or rotation effects. Permanent fix: |
