Symptoms |
Many customers have DCS 2.0 files that they want to place into their page files. The problem is that no desktop applications will pour out composite PS that contains a DCS 2.0 image; the workflow to date has been a separated workflow or else relies on an OPI server to substitute the DCS 2.0 files into the composite PS. Unfortunately, the Prinergy V1.1 OPI does NOT support DCS 2.0 format. This is slated to be fixed in Prinergy V2.0. |

Solution |
(1) Pour separated PS from the desktop application (2) Refine the PS using Prinergy. Only select Normalize with OPI. You will get fat, separated PDF out. (3) Use the PDF SepsToComp plug-in to convert the separated PDF to composite PDF. Information about the plug-in can be found at http://www.creoscitex.com/products/workflow/Intense/products/seps2comp/index.asp. (4) Trap, ColorConvert, Proof and Plate the composite PDF. Permanent fix: Prinergy 2.0 |
