Error |

Symptoms |
After installation of SignaPack or SignaStation v6, the Signa License Manager fails to start -- it just hangs with no response. |
Cause |
The version of Java (v1.2) that Signa installs with the License Manager does not function correctly on Pentium 4 architectures. | |
Solution |
Manually upgrade the Java to v1.3.1 or greater. The procedure: 1) Go to the "<SignaPack install directory>\LicenseManager" directory and rename the "jre" directory to be "jre.v12", 3) Put the file "jre131.exe" into a temp directory. The "jre131.exe" file is available as an attachment to this Knowledge Base article. The "jre131.exe" is also available at <ftp://csoftp:csoftp@ftpkiel.heidelberg.com/public/SignaStation/SignaStation6/4LicenseManager_and_Pentium4/> 4) Execute the "jre131.exe" file. Set the unpack directory to be "<SignaPack install directory>\LicenseManger\jre" and hit the "Entpacken" button. This will unpack the Java v1.3 to the jre directory. 5) Execute the License Manager and you should be able to update the license key. Permanent fix: |
