Symptoms |
Proof from Prinergy comes out muddy looking or colors look wrong. |
Cause |
A user will often use a BestRIP or some other RIP in front of their proofer, but they will also have colormatching enabled in the refine process plan of Prinergy. This means they are trying to colormatch the file twice. Although in theory this should not cause problems if everything is setup properly, it is highly likely that there will be a wrong profile somewhere, or some checkbox is enabled that shouldn't be, etc. | |

Solution |
If colormatching is being performed on a proofer's RIP, do not colormatch in Prinergy. To correct this situation, turn off colormatching in Prinergy or in the proofer's RIP. In Prinergy, you could simply turn off colormatching in the refine process plan. However, if you want to leave it on (in order to convert device-independent color spaces), un-check the boxes in the "From" section of the process plan . When outputting a proof, turn off "Match Colors in Page Content" in the output process plan. Permanent fix: |
