Symptoms |
Using the "DeviceGray" button in the Render tab of an output process plan prevents you from using any other screening set except AM Round Dot. |
Cause |
When outputting to DeviceGray, Prinergy uses the Color Combiner to do the grayscaling, but unfortunately it does so using AM Round Dot, which is hard-coded. Therefore, any screen shape settings in the Calibration and Screening section are ignored. | |

Solution |
In Edit>Color Separations, set C, M, Y, to Do Not Output, and set spot colors to Convert To Process. In the output process plan, enable "match colors in page content" in the ColorConvert tab. For the Proof Process Profile, choose a gray profile (for example, genericgray.icm). Choose whatever screening options you like. When making plates or proofs, you should only get the K separation screened according to your settings. Permanent fix: |
