Symptoms |
Colors look incorrect (JPEG output colors look different from PDF file colors) |
Cause |
When outputting to JPEG, you can only choose DeviceRGB and DeviceGray as the device color model. If you have CMYK images in your input files, the RIP will convert them to RGB when outputting. However, the RIP uses a very simplistic algorithm and gives poor results in most cases. | |

Solution |
Use colormatching to convert any CMYK images or graphics to RGB. This can be done during refine or on output. Note: it is preferable to do it on output so that you can still make plates. However, for those who wish to do web publishing, they may want to refine to RGB. Either way, the workaround is valid and the customer can choose what suits them best. An Advanced Colormatching license is required if you choose to do it during output. Permanent fix: |
