Symptoms |
Plates do not match the proof, whether VPS, TIFF, etc. For example, images may be missing or entire separations will be missing, or spot colors inadvertently get converted to process. |

||
Cause |
When doing Final Output, the Color Matcher is not available to handle spot color mapping or conversions, so the RIP tries to do it. Unfortunately, the RIP is only able to handle specific cases. (For example, the mapping of imposition-based spots, such as SSICustom1, to content-based spots, such as PANTONE Reflex Blue C, is fine.) For the cases the RIP can't handle, you get the symptoms described. |

Solution |
Prinergy is designed to refine to a digital master. A digital master should already have color mapping, color matching, and trapping applied so that you have a press-ready PDF file containing only the final press colors. If you do color mappings on output (Edit -> Color Separations), what you are plating is not the same as what you are proofing. To avoid this, it is advised that you re-refine the file (example, using 2ndRef_MapColors processplan) so that the mappings are reflected in the digital master. It is advised to perform spot color conversion (spot to CMYK, spot mapping) as far upstream as possible. Permanent fix: |
