Symptoms |
The background of a page, where there is no data, displays a very light (~0.5 to 1.5%) tint when Colormatching and Raster Overprint Handling is enabled, even when Relative Colorimetric rendering intent ("Assume Proofer Resembles Final Paper") has been selected. |
Cause |
Because the use of Raster Overprint Handling is in the raster domain, there is no way to tell that (0,0,0,0) is supposed to be the background. It could just as easily be a specular highlight. For this reason, it is colormatched, and with certain combinations of source and target profiles, a small tint will be produced. | |
Solution |
1. Use Vector Overprint Handling. 2. Use a correct set of CMYK profiles that will not generate unwanted tint. 3. Use Device link CMYK profile which will do the same as (2) above. 4. Use the Retain CMYK Black feature with CMYK profiles, because it will try to preserve the original colorant values 0, 0, 0, 0. Permanent fix: |
