Symptoms |
Imposition plan fails to import into Prinergy from Preps 4.0.x with the error "Import/Export could not parse the imposition plan". |
Cause |
There is a random bug in the Mac version of Preps 4.0.x that outputs a job ticket with /CPC_OriginalFileName (:Blank Page). When Blank Page file name is preceeded by a colon it fails to import into Prinergy. | |
Solution |
Warning: Before doing either workaround, verify that /CPC_OriginalFileName (:Blank Page) is in the job ticket using either a text editor on the Mac or Cosedit on Prinergy Server. If there is no colon in front of Blank Page then something else is wrong. 1. Rewrite the job ticket from Preps 4.0.x. This problem is random and usually only happens the first time a job ticket is output from Preps. 2. Add ":Blank Page" to the registry list of file names accepted. Using regedit go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on local machine\Software\Creo\Araxi\2.0.4\default\RWJT. Locate the string "UnassignedFileNames", double click the string and the String Editor dialog appears. Type in :Blank Page exactly. There is no space after the colon and a space between Blank and Page. Click OK. In order for the Import/Export JTP to recognize this change, Prinergy must be stopped and restarted. Re-import the imposition plan that failed. Permanent fix: |
