Error |

Symptoms |
Greyscale TIFF files colorized with a spot color in QuarkXPress get separated to CMYK when processed through Prinergy. |
Cause |
QuarkXPress doesn't write composite PostScript with enough information for the Normalizer to do the right thing. | |
Solution |
Option A: Download the Creo TIFF XTension and install in your Quark XTensions folder, then generate composite PostScript. . Option B: Poured separated PostScript from Quark, but then, of course, you cannot trap separated files. . Option C: 1. Open the TIFF in Photoshop version 5.02 or above. 2. Set it up as a monotone (using the required spot color). 3. Save it out as an DCS. 4. Reimport into Quark. 5. Print composite thin PostScript, and let Prinergy OPI re-composite the DCS into a "clean" deviceN image. Permanent fix: |
