Symptoms

In the Storage view, the job files can be viewed in groups, and there is a total for each group (e.g. "Online and Currently Archived"). For some jobs, after an archive operation, the total number of files reported in the Storage view may not match the total number of files reportedly archived in the archiver messages displayed in the History view.

Examples:

A. The user archives a page file in the Storage view, looks at the History view, and it says that two files were archived but they only selected one.

B. The user purges an archived imposition plan file in the Storage view, looks at the History view and it says that two files were purged.

C. The user archives an entire job that the Storage view says has a total of 46 files; the History view says that 64 files were archived.

Cause

1) Thumbnails

2) FPO

3) Imposition Marks

4) Bypass Parts

So, if a job has one or more files of any of these types, they will be archived/retrieved/purged properly and the History view will display archiver messages that report a file total that includes these files.

If a page has thumbnails/FPOs or BypassParts files associated with it, only the page file will appear in the Storage view, but any archive/purge/retrieve activity will affect the page file and its thumbnails, FPOs, BypassParts.

This works similarly for the case of an imposition plan having an associated imposition marks file.

Solution

The main branch fix the UI to include the thumbnails file.

You just need to understand what causes the inconsistency, so you can reassure the user that nothing is wrong with their job—all of the information is in fact there.
